Photo 23

It's rained today, the fine drizzle kind. It doesn't seem to have cleared the air though and it's what I call jungle weather. Not that I've ever been in a jungle but I imagine this is what it feels like.

There have still been bright spots though -  weather wise and during the day in general.

Little Miss Sienna, grown up enough now to sit in the trolley while we shop. She's probably been able to do this for weeks, but Granny and Grandpa only had the lightbulb moment today.
My Rose! I am ridiculously happy that this has flowered and the colour is gorgeous.
And a rather bright poncho has been finished. I just need to add a tassel.
Hope you've all had a bright and cheerful day.

  1. I looks lovely, did it take long? I always think crocheting grows quicker than knitting. What a little beauty your granddaughter is.

    1. I love crocheting for that very reason Tania, you can have something whipped up fairly quickly. It took a week but I've not picked it up every day. I can make one in a couple of days if I put my mind to it but it's only for a little person. Thank you, she's a darling and has been lovely to have the past couple of weeks, she's getting to be good fun. xx

  2. jealous of the rain. There was a dismal attempt at one point today, but it failed.
I am sick of this stupid heat. I need a good downpour, though thankfully there is a bit of cloud and a decent breeze.

Sienna looks fabulous in the trolley. Takes me back. I miss those days.

the poncho is fantastic. And I love your rose, raindrops and all. x

    1. We have it again today as well Sadie, still the fine drizzle but it's cooler than yesterday and is a welcome relief. I still think we need a good downpour as well and a good thunderstorm just to clear the air.

I've quite a few buds on the rose so if they all flower I'll be very happy. Sienna is growing up. Can't believe she will be one next Thursday. xx

  3. Love to see your weekly photo of Sienna. The poncho is really stunning-it will be a lovely gift for a lucky wee one. Slightly cooler here today and I finally got the sewing machine back out! Catriona

    1. She's a sweetie Catriona and good fun now as well. We can get loads of smiles out of her and we're working on the giggles! Ooh, what are you sewing? I bought 3 more t-shirts on Wednesday so I'm hoping to get a dress made today. xx

  4. What a perfect pair, Sienna and the Rose! Both are beautiful. Sienna is growing up so fast. We have had really strong winds the last few days. The peony has really taken a beating. Garry pounded in a big stake to try and hold them up but it didn't do much good.

    1. Your peony is gorgeous, I hope the wind hasn't damaged it too much. It's drizzling her today and it's much cooler but we could still do with a good thunderstorm to clear the air.

You're right, Sienna is growing up fast, she will be one next Thursday. Soon she'll be toddling around and talking and then the fun really will begin! xx

    1. Thank you Liz. Yes, being pushed around, while being fed snacks is an ideal way of doing the weekly shop isn't it. Mind you I'd have to choose chocolate biscuits rather than the leek and onion squares she was eating yesterday. Her snacks always sound so delicious but it all tastes like cardboard! xx

  6. Sienna is such a sweetie. Shopping is so much easier when they are in the trolley, out of the way. Luckily Lily still fits in, so if she's being a nuisance I put her in! X

    1. She loved sitting in the trolley Jules, much better than in the pram where she can't really see anything. I remember when Amy stopped fitting in the seat I stuck her in the main trolley and the shopping built up around her - much easier to have her trapped than have to chase her all over the store! xx

  7. Awwww....I used to love it when Ruby went in the shopping trolley. I doubt that I will ever experience it with Marlowe as I don't get to see her that often.

    Gorgeous poncho.

    1. It's one of those milestones isn't it Sheila, sitting them in a shopping trolley. So much easier for us as well. You can tell the grey matter is getting on through - no idea why we'd not thought of it weeks ago.

I know it's a way off but will Marlowe come to yours for tea every week when she starts school like Ruby does? xx

  8. Sienna looks so cute in the shopping cart! Soon she'll be helping you to get stuff off the shelves! Your rose is beautiful! Now, if you can send me some of that rain...

    1. If only you'd asked for the rain a little earlier Bless! We are back to blue sky and sunshine today. Yes, I'm sure in a few months we will be struggling to get her to sit in the trolley - she'll be wanting to toddle around instead. xx
