Postcards from The Van Day 5

Another beautiful day at the van. After a slow start we drove back to Number 38 to pick up Amy and the dogs. I was a bit worried about them travelling but Wendy was fine in her carrier and Sparky was happy to sit in the footwell.

Back at the van we had a saunter to the shop for ice-creams then sat out on the grass behind the van having a chat with the 3 of us taking it in turns to dip in and out of whatever Thomas fancied playing. I can’t believe how much time he’s spending outside. I love this photo. For a brother and sister and considering the age difference they get on really well. Amy has downloaded Pokemon Go, (you’ll either understand that or not), and they’ll suddenly jump up and go running around the site trying to catch them.
Mark has lit another BBQ and our evening meal is cooking as I type. We’ve thrown what we all want to do this week into the melting pot. The dungeons, the pier, the beach, the arcade, the park, Lowther Gardens, the garden centre and possibly a trip to the top of Blackpool Tower have all been mentioned. In between all that there’ll be plenty of evening strolls, playing in parks and van time.

Wish you were here J xx

  1. ha ha ha, ha ha ha, ha ha ha! <- that is me cackling like a loon. Oh those saucy postcards.

I understand the Pokémon but I don't really get the appeal. Probably 'cos I'm an old, old woman.

Am moaning because it's too hot. Am moaning because it's still school. Am moaning, moaning, moaning. So I'm off. To have a good moan.

Carry on enjoying your hols :O) x

    1. It's a bit rude isn't it. I keep finding really good ones but they won't let me copy them - humbugs haha.

I didn't get the Pokemon either, but I think it's about getting kids out and about walking and going places looking for them. Although Amy said she was lay bed Sunday evening and one 'appeared' in her room. Freaky!

I'm not far from moaning myself today. It's blisteringly hot here. Need to get to the front for some breeze but too hot to move. Maybe this evening.... xx

    1. We're having a great time Serenata. Yes, they do get on well. There's the odd bit of bickering but not much considering. Amy is really good with him and they have a lot of the same interests which helps. xx

  3. The weather up here is hot and sticky so am really envious of you this week. Are you going to walk on the glass floor at the Tower?? If you go back to Bizzie Fingers, she will give you my contact details if you wish. I am still decluttering and organising my stash but it's a slow processdue to the humidity. Hope the dogs enjoy their holiday as much as the four f you are doing. Slainte. Catriona

    1. I won't be going up the Tower at all Catriona. Hate heights. I went up once and couldn't move so there's no way I'd walk on the glass floor. I've been trying to get Bizzie Fingers facebook page up but it won't load. Internet is pretty good but not brilliant and of course I have to 'share' with Thomas haha. xx

  4. I'm with Sadie on the moaning about it being too hot. I don't like hot weather but I think I could cope if I was in a caravan by the sea with all those lovely sea breezes.
Glad to hear that you are still having fun-x-

  5. How nice to have the family all together! That's nice that you have what looks like a private garden to enjoy. Lovely picture of the siblings playing together. Pokemon Go is very popular here, too.

    1. It's a good spot with all the grass at the back to play on. Yes, it's nice to have Amy and the dogs here, it's company for Thomas as well. I've been hearing about Pokemon Go on the news but wasn't sure what it was until Amy explained. xx

    1. I did wonder about posting it, but there's a naughty side to me that probably doesn't always come across! I think it's a great idea getting kids out and about 'hunting' for these Pokemon. No idea how anybody manages to get run over or fall in a lake while doing it though? No Pikachu caught at Number 38 yet, but I'll keep you posted. xx
