Postcards from The Van Day 4

Woke up to lovely weather again. We spent a quiet day at the van doing what we do best. Nothing very much.

I've done a bit of knitting and reading and played lots of swingball, football and badminton with Thomas.

There was cake and strawberries for afternoon tea.
Then a walk on the front to Thomas’ favourite park in the evening.
Sienna was a poppet and has been invited back to Granny and Grandpa’s caravan any time she feels like a break from mum and dad.

Amy arrives tomorrow. She has plans to hit the rides in Blackpool and Thomas, who has overcome his fear of sandy toes, plans to buy a bucket and spade and go on the beach.

Wish you were here :) xx

  1. Love your postcards☺ They make me smile at the end of a miserable day - my only daughter is moving to Norfolk this week so feeling down in the dumps😥 Enjoy the rest of your holiday - I think the weather looks better!

    1. Oh dear. That's the only thing with children isn't it, not only do they leave home but they quite often move a fair distance away these days. Not like it used to be where families were all within walking distance of each other. Will you be able to see her regularly? At least there are things like Facetime now, although I'd need to go on a course for something like that! xx

  2. Sounds like you are having a nice relaxing time. Glad to hear that Sienna was so good and mum and dad enjoyed a little break and G&G enjoyed having her. Thomas sounds like he's really coming out of himself and having lots of fun. Hope Amy has a good time too!

    1. It's lovely here Janice. There's some relaxing but a fair bit of energetic stuff with Thomas as well which I'm not used to! But it's fun. Sienna was really good and Matthew and Sophie were so appreciative that we'd had her. xx

  3. ha ha, love that postcard!

Your time at the caravan sound idyllic and very Enid Blyton. Pleased Sienna was a good girl for you.
I agree with Janice, sounds like Thomas is thriving there!

Have a lovely Monday. 4 days and counting ..... xxxxx

    1. Haha, yes I suppose it does sound a bit like Enid Blyton. Just need lashings of lemonade and honey roast ham. Only thing is Mum never seemed to appear in any stories and she certainly wasn't running around like a loon playing swingball etc. Bet you can't wait for school to finish can you. xx

    1. Even hotter today! Struggling to move so we've decided to stay by the van. Think we'll be having a walk on the front this evening though to cool down. xx

  5. I had just taken a sip of my tea when I clicked on your blog and saw the postcard........it is now all over the computer screen....lol.
When I see pics of strawberries as beautiful as those it really makes me wish I liked the taste of them but unfortunately I don't.
So glad Sienna was a poppet for you. My two were very good today but it was nice to be able to wave them off when Marlowe started getting tired. She screams when she's tired and those screams could pierce armour plating never mind Ganma's ears-x-

    1. Too right Sheila :) It was lovely to have her but equally as lovely to pass her back. The thought of having to do those feeds again for a second night really didn't appeal. xx

    1. We seem to have breakfast, afternoon tea or ice-cream then our evening meal. Lunch has disappeared completely since we've been here. The strawberries were delicious, need to buy some more. xx

    1. I know, he's certainly surprised me. It's an environment thing though. Back at Number 38 and he was straight on the Xbox. Hoping all this activity will have helped me lose a few pounds as well. Although there's lots of ice-cream being eaten so probably not. xx
