Postcards from the van day 2

Woke up to rain and a phone call from school asking where Thomas was!  The ‘sick’ child needed some fresh air and decided to play out but eventually came in when he got too wet. Nothing for it but to entertain ourselves in the van making a model aeroplane. While we were waiting for the paint to dry Thomas opened a tattoo studio. I ordered a flower. Thomas decided I needed roots and soil as well.

Just after lunch it cleared up enough for us to head into Lytham. Mark dropped me at Bizzie Fingers where I met the lovely Camilla and had a little chat with her. I bought a couple of sewing needles and a bell for a toy project I’m having a dabble at.

It started to drizzle while we were there but we still had a walk along the front and back through the gardens.
In fact we pretty much had the prom all to ourselves. Perfect weather for these though.

Burgers are on the menu tonight and being the hardy British folk we are we're not letting rain stop play and Mark has lit the ‘BBQ’.

I’m going to have my first G&T of the holiday. I won’t be able to have one tomorrow for reasons which will become clear. So chin chin my good friends.

Wish you were here J xx

  1. Bizzie fingers is a cute shop isn't it. I don't know if you saw the other shop right on the bridge, Vintage Sewing Bunny, that doesn't have the same selection but does stock some nice fabrics and things.

Just a thing, if anyone else was looking to visit, it's in the St Anne's bit of Lytham St Anne's, as far as I know there isn't anything like Bizzie Fingers in Lytham (nor is there a big sandy beach!) Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

  2. I am loving your stories of the day and the postcards.
The cards are continuing education for my DB and great nostalgia for me.
Love the pictures of places that mean so much.
    Thank you!

    1. Glad you are enjoying the posts Pam. The cards may get more saucy as the days go on so you might have to cover your eyes haha. Xx

  3. love your postcard theme.

Quite right, we have to carry on even during the rain. If we didn't, we'd never do anything.

    Fab tattoo!

  5. Yes you're right it's the St Anne's part. Just get fed up of typing the whole name and call it all lytham which is OK if you know where you are not if you don't :) xx

    1. With Lytham and St Anne's having separate train stations I just thought I'd mention it incase anyone ever visited and came by public transport!

    2. Oh yes, can you imagine if everybody ended up in totally the wrong place lol. I'm not sure how I'd dig myself out of that one. Anybody reading the blog ignore my geography and listen to Thrift Deluxe :) It gets called all sorts by different people. St Anne's on Sea, Lytham, Lytham St Annes, I lose track. Are you in the St Anne's part or the Lytham part? xx

    1. It's great to see Thomas out and about and making friends. The BBQ was a great success, he might not be good at sausages but his burgers are spot on. Hope you had a great day yesterday. xx
