Postcards from The Van Day 8

A little bit cooler here today with a lovely breeze, so I'm not feeling as hot and bothered as I did yesterday.

We spent the morning by the van then in the afternoon we had a drive to Lowther Gardens. I've never been before and if you're ever over on the Fylde coast it's definitely worth a visit.
The gardens are lovely and according to their website it's the oldest park in Lytham St Anne's. There's tennis, pitch and put, crazy golf, bowls, a cafe and the Pavillion Theatre. Me, Amy and Thomas decided to have a round of pitch and put while Mark walked the dogs, who surprisingly are being extremely well behaved on their holidays.
Tonight a quick trip to Blackpool and Coral Island has been requested. There's a ghost train that Thomas has decided he wants to go on. There's no holding the boy back these days!

Wish you were here :) xx

  1. there's no stopping him!

Bit cooler here today. Still a bit on the muggy side, but not as bad as it was. And finally, school is over! Hoo-blooming-rar! ;o) xx

    1. I did the ghost train with him. To be honest we'd worked each other up into a frenzy before it had even set off! And then it was really tame but he loved it. Amy took him on the monorail as well. It's been a joy to see him doing things that he wouldn't normally do. Such a confidence boost for him as well. xx

    1. The dogs were really good. So good, we've no excuse not to take them away with us again unfortunately haha. I think we've walked them into exhaustion though. They've not moved since we came home. xx

    1. Yes, the sun might not be out but it's still warm. Luckily the van has 3 roof lights and also one in the bathroom so we had them fully open at night with the fly screens across which cooled us down. xx

    1. Oh that's made me laugh Catriona. It's taken me days to do it and you knock me back straight away! Will do it again tomorrow. xx

  5. I'm TWOT in this weather! It's been awful at work - the ancient building us like a greenhouse. But you are having awesome weather. Who needs to go abroad?

    1. Oh I can imagine. 30 hot sticky little bodies in a stuffy classroom. Poor things and poor teachers. We couldn't have asked for better weather. And you're so right about going abroad. I'm feeling really sorry for all those people at Dover who've been stuck in traffic for hours with no sign of it improving. What a nightmare. xx

    1. It's been gorgeous hasn't it. We couldn't have wished for better, although quite often we can leave Manchester in the rain and by the time we've got over there the sky is blue and the sun is shining. It seems to have its own climate. Don't think it will be too long before we're heading back over there. xx
