24 hours

I had a camera free weekend so no photos to show I'm afraid.

The hotel was lovely. It's changed since we last went but not so much that we didn't recognise it.

The room was lovely, a superior with a sea view, if you don't mind.

All food and drink went down a treat. It's been many years since I've enjoyed a leisurely lunch with Mark without clock watching for school pick up time.

The casino was great fun. Another lovely meal followed by a couple of hours at the roulette table. We broke even but Lady Luck was definitely with Matthew and Sophie who walked away £400 up!

We were literally gone 24 hours, setting off about 11.30 and arriving back just before noon, but what a fantastic 24 hours we had.

Our next trip away is this weekend when we pick up the caravan. Totally different to what we've just done but I'm looking forward to it just as much.

    1. Hi Jules. Feeling very relaxed and refreshed although we walked in to a frustrated Thomas and a problem with the Xbox. Doesn't take long for reality to hit you in the face again here. xx

  4. Breakfast is wonderful. The chef makes my porridge the Scottish way-with water and a pinch of salt! Glad you enjoyed yourselves. Good luck with the caravan and happy towing, Catriona

    1. Hi Catriona. It was a very different menu and set up since we were last there but just as good. I've had a fair few bowls of porridge with whisky at The Grand in my time. Hare of the dog and all that.... xxx

    1. It was lovely Bless. We're together at home quite a lot but there's something completely different about being away and in different surroundings, especially when you're being waited on :) A definite taste of things to come. xx

    1. Hi OE and welcome to Number 38. No clock watching was lovely. I won't even wear a watch because there aren't enough hours in some days here and I don't need reminding of that every time I look at my wrist haha. xx

    1. It was brilliant! Part of me wished Thomas would grow up quickly now so that we could leave him on his own until I realised I'd be nearer 60 than 50 when that happened, so I immediately stopped wishing the years away! xx

    3. Haha, you're lucky to get a reply even if it is just one word. Amy is never off her phone but I very rarely get a reply to a text or call. Little monkey. xx
