An average day in photos

Another late request from school. A black cap for the rapping planet. Luckily it was Bury today so I picked one up there.
Roses for the windowsill. We went shopping tonight as I've got a couple of things on tomorrow.
Knitting rectangles which are slowly being turned into an idea I conjured up while lying awake in bed one night.
Flicking through the NT magazine which arrived today, trying to marry some caravan sites with some places of interest to visit.
Breakfast sorted for me at the caravan.
I seem to be chasing my tail this week, can't even say why really, I just know I don't seem to have time to scratch the old proverbial. I'm falling behind with all my favourite blogs as well which just isn't cricket. Hoping to rectify that very soon and come and visit you all. In the meantime, hope you are all well.

  1. tah! you have to love school and their late requests, because it isn't even remotely annoying or awkward!

    1. They requested black t-shirt, trousers and sunglasses Monday after school to be taken in on Tuesday. I sent the trousers and sunglasses in but didn't have a t-shirt. Apparently the kids who didn't take stuff in had to explain why! Then he came home Tuesday with a new request for a cap. They're bloody idiots at that school with things like this. At parents evening you can write your gripes on the bottom of a questionnaire. Late requests for stuff will be my number 1. xx

Hoping to show you the knitting tomorrow. xx

    1. I do like to have an aim to my holidays. Can't be doing with just hanging around doing nothing. Plus I've paid for NT so I may as well try and use it. Where are you going or haven't you decided yet? xx

  3. You have at least had a productive day. A lot of tail chasing going on here too (hence no posts) but I've been trying to read other blogs on my phone when I have a moment. Your roses look beaitiful, such a stunning colour. I may treat myself to something flowery today. That magazine also arrived on my doorstep yesterday. Looking for places to stay is exciting. I can, of course, recommend the Lakes. ;-) x

    1. The Lakes is definitely on our list. I fancy Coniston or Ullswater but Mark says it's quite a way for a weekend so will have to go for longer - even better. Have to remember there are speed restrictions with a caravan so rather than flying up the motorway we'll be plodding along.

Days are flying by here. No idea where May has gone. Want the world to slow down just a little bit. xx

  4. It sounds like you have a lot going on. Life does get busy all of a sudden, doesn't it? Hope things quieten down a bit for you. The roses are beautiful.

    1. I can't even say why life is busy at the moment. I think it's lots of little things that need sorting out that are on my mind. We're away next week for my birthday, Mark is 50 in a couple of weeks and there are things underway for that which need organising, the caravan needs setting up so we've lists galore for that. Then there's Amy's exams, tutor sessions, mood swings that need coping with. Lately there just seems to be something that needs doing every day. Hoping it will all quieten down soon. xx

  5. I worked in a school where we would have had to provide all that stuff for the children otherwise it would not have happened. I was constantly seeking grants etc so that we could do our children proud. My daughter went to a dancing class just like Thomas' teacher-you paid an exorbitant amount of money for tacky costumes and then it was a constant demand for other items. As most of the mums worked, we had to drive ourselves mad trying to get the extra stuff eg yellow tights. How I did it, I will never know. Look after yourself and don't be overdoing things ( says she who never practises what she preaches) Catriona

    1. Hi Catriona. I don't mind providing the things and the teachers do work hard on everything they do, but it's always such short notice to come up with things it's ridiculous. I don't work and I often wonder how Mums and Dads who do cope. I don't think I've ever been asked for anything really random but World Book Day especially gets on my nerves. Coming up with a character costume is a royal pain. Thankfully, we only have one more of those left next year and then it's all over. xx
