A handful of knitting

Unfortunately, for all the wrong reasons BHS have a great sale on at the moment. I walked through the baby section today and picked these up for pink baby. They're the next size up, 3-6 months. I'm sure they'll get so much given to them when the baby is born that it seemed better to go a size up.
I've filled and wrapped 20 pencil cases and will post them off tomorrow.
I'm knitting with some lovely coloured wool that brightens my day every time I work with it.
And I've been knitting these easy stocking stitch rectangles over the past few days.
Turning them into cute little finger puppet dollies.
Just need to i cord some arms, fix their hair and sew on some teeny tiny buttons I've bought for their eyes.

    1. They are pretty cute aren't they. Mind you I haven't sewn any deranged faces on them yet! I've found a pattern for butterflies so I'm going to make some of those next. xx

    1. It might be the last photo of the dollies you see. I may just pretend their faces were fantastic but that I forgot to photograph them before I wrapped them up! xx

  3. They really are sweet! And it is such a shame about BHS. The baby clothes are adorable! I'm just going to go reply to your comment now on my 'political' post!

    1. Your post made my blood boil. Not what you'd written, but the whole bleeping thing. It's ridiculous what children are being put through these days. And yes, where's the box for the child who couldn't read in Year 4 but now can. It would help if they didn't keep changing things every other year as well. It'll all backfire spectacularly I think. There'll be no child educated soon because nobody will want to teach and I can't say I'd blame them. xx

    1. Welcome to Number 38 Chris, glad you enjoy my daily ramblings haha. The dollies are fun to make and the pencil cases were a bit hit with the children apparently. Makes it worthwhile doing when you know things end up where they should. xx

    1. The baby clothes were marked down by 30% so they were a good buy. Yes, I'm growing quite attached to the puppets. I may even name them. xx

  6. Gorgeous baby gifts but, yes, such a sad ending for one of those names we've all grown up with (though I'm sure I heard they've received a couple of offers for the business so maybe the story hasn't ended just yet). Love all your makes, too. Clever clogs!

    1. It's a shame so many stores seem to be disappearing. Somebody in the queue asked if Bury was staying open but they didn't know, although rumour has it not all stores will go anyway. Still a lot of people will be affected by it.

I could have spent a fortune on pink baby but held back. No doubt she'll have a wardrobe like Elizabeth Taylor's when she arrives! xx

  7. you are clever with your knitting.

Aw, baby clothes. So sweet. It is sad about BHS. But I have to admit I've not shopped in there for years. Hate their stuff. Their Christmas bits are always nice, but because I wasn't in the habit of going in there, I rarely thought to go in and look and buy. Such a shame.

    1. It is a shame that so many people will lose their jobs. I find the odd bits and pieces in there. Mainly winter coats and summer trousers. They have some lovely baby stuff, mind you I love all baby clothes, they're just so cute. xx

    1. I love buying for babies. Everything is just so damn adorable. Smiling to myself about your comment re. time. I sat down to knit for half an hour yesterday and it was 90 minutes later I realised the clock had stopped. Had to move pretty sharpish in the house to catch up with myself haha. xx

    1. I don't wear a watch either so I'm totally reliant on the clock, which is fine until it stops! xx
