Christmas Money and Presents

I went to the Fort today for a Wii U game Thomas wanted to buy with his Christmas money. They didn't have one in Game so I popped into Asda. No luck there either but I did spy these. I saw them a couple of weeks ago but being tight, the reduction of £1 wasn't enough for me to open my purse, especially as they'll only be used at Christmas. Today they were on the shelf for 50p each, so I bought 4 of them.
Luckily Argos had the game, although I couldn't pay at the 'quick pay point' as there was an age limit on it, which seemed a bit strange considering it's all cartoon characters. Anyway I duly queued up and queried it, to be told "yes, you've got to be 3 years + to buy it"!

Right have to go, Thomas is singing a song to me and is getting irritated because I'm not giving him my full attention.

We're of to visit Mrs Gaskell tomorrow. Looking forward to that.

xx

  1. oof. I paid £3 for mine! Oh well. They sold pretty well in our Asda, and I haven't seen any since I bought mine, so I can't be too miffed about it. But I still am, just a little bit!

Glad you were able to purchase the game without being asked for ID?!! ;o)
Ah kids, they do like all our attention, don't they?

Hope you are feeling better now xx

    1. Oohh, We've got matching Christmas cups :) I don't go to Asda often so it was only on the off chance I saw them. They had about 10 of each left (they had white with a red design on as well).

I wouldn't have minded being asked if I was over 21 but over 3? I must look like a very tall chubby toddler haha.

Thomas sang the same song to me 4 times before I could think of a really nice way of asking him not to carry on. He can be easily offended. Amy doesn't care though, she just shouted "not again Thomas, it's boring". He takes it from her no problem, but looks like a wounded deer when I say anything like that. xx

    1. Would be great if I only spent 50p on all my Christmas things. They're in my cupboard now waiting for 1st December! xx

    1. The girl did good didn't she :) Hoping I can find a few more things on the shelves. Must have a look in Boots, never really go in there so they might have some good reductions. xx

  4. Well done on your bargain. They had a ceramic village thing I think but only knocked £2 off I might pop back to see if it's still there with more money knocked off! x

    1. Didn't see the village I don't think but the reductions were really good. Serviettes and table runners for 20p/30p. The village might have really come down in price now. xx

  5. Love those cups, and what a bargain!! I managed to get some really good deals this week. A christmas cookie cutter set reduced from $12.00 down to $1.20 and a 2 tier stoneware serving dish reduced from $20.00 down to $4.97!! They'll both be fore GD as she and her boyfriend have a house and she's very much into all the kitcheny stuff and loves to cook and bake.

    1. I do like a bargain and I love it when I go to pay and find out it's been reduced even further. If only all my Christmas shopping could be done at such a low cost. Those are really good reductions you got, I bet your GD will be thrilled with her treats. . xx

  6. Next time I go to a shop, I'm on a mission to buy something for 50p that's been heavily reduced! I could have gone to Asda tonight, however I chose to stay at home and do laundry. I have all the fun!

    1. But did you do your laundry beautifully, that's the all important question haha.

I'm not one of these people who always seems to find a bargain or reduction so I was really pleased with the cups. In fact I can pick up something in a shop and 9/10 times without it looking as though it is, it will be the most expensive thing in the shop. Just as well I don't enjoy shopping really. xx
