Braced for Banana Cake

Amy is in the kitchen at the moment weighing ingredients for tomorrows culinary delight - banana cake. After last weeks disaster Number 38 is well and truly braced for this weeks attempt at baking.

Talking about Amy, a layer of foundation, cover stick and powder was administered this morning to hide the bruising around her lips. Personally, I'd have begged my Mum for a sickie, (and not got one), but Amy isn't vain and the pull of seeing her friends far outweighs anybody commenting on how she looks.

Sparky has been poodled at the parlour and no longer looks like he's been dragged through a hedge backwards. He's not impressed though and has spent the entire afternoon sulking under Amy's bed.
Mark rang the Macmillan nurse and protocol means that although they can give advice over the phone they can only be accessed for a home visit through the District Nurse or GP, so he'll speak to the nurse when she comes on Thursday.

I won another quilt which will be used for dresses. It's 100% cotton and I'll get 3 dresses for 13/14 years out of this plus a couple of baby ones. Total cost per dress 90p each and my time. There's plenty of that and it's all free.

  1. Doesn't it feel good to make something for someone else? Especially when that person really needs it. You must feel great as you are making such a difference in some little/big girls life. Can't you just imagine the joy on their face as they receive a dress that you have made them. Doing good for them and for you.
    Good on you!

  2. You're right, it does feel good and I can't tell you how much enjoyment I'm getting out of making them, firstly because I can actually do it and more importantly because I know they are definitely going to girls who desperately need them. xx
